খুলনা থেকে ছেড়ে যাওয়া রাজশাহীগামী সাগরদাঁড়ি আন্তঃনগর এক্সপ্রেসের একটি বগির স্প্রিং ও পাতি ভেঙে পড়ে শিরোমণি এলাকায় দুর্ঘটনায় পতিত হয়।
বুধবার (৩০ আগস্ট) বিকেল সাড়ে ৪টার দিকে শিরোমণির মোল্যাবাড়ি এলাকায় এ দুর্ঘটনা ঘটে।
এ ঘটনায় খুলনার সঙ্গে সারাদেশের রেল যোগাযোগ বন্ধ হয়ে যায়। পরে উদ্ধারকারী রিলিফ ট্রেন এসে ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত বগি মেরামত করে রাত পৌনে ৮টার দিকে রেল যোগাযোগ স্বাভাবিক করে।
রেলওয়ে পুলিশ ও ট্রনের যাত্রী সূত্রে জানা গেছে, খুলনা রেলস্টেশন থেকে রাজশাহীর উদ্দেশে ছেড়ে যায় আন্তঃনগর সাগরদাঁড়ি এক্সপ্রেস খানজাহান আলী থানাধীন শিরোমণি মোল্যাবাড়ি এলাকায় আসলে ট্রেনটির কোচ এর স্প্রিং এবং পাতি ভেঙে পড়ে। ট্রেনচালক বিকট শব্দ পেয়ে দ্রুত ট্রেনটি থামিয়ে ফেলে। দুর্ঘটনার ফলে রেললাইনের স্লিপার ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত হয়। তবে এতে যাত্রীদের তেমন কোনো ক্ষয়-ক্ষতির খবর পাওয়া যায়নি।
ট্রেনে থাকা রাজশাহী রেলওয়ে থানা পুলিশের এ এস আই রুবেল জানান, খুলনা থেকে ছেড়ে আসা রাজশাহীগামী সাগরদাঁড়ি এক্সপ্রেসটি শিরোমণি এলাকায় আসলে ট্রেনের স্ক্রিং ও পাতি খুলে পড়ে দুর্ঘটনার শিকার হয়। দুর্ঘটনার পর বিকাল সাড়ে ৪টা থেকে খুলনার সাথে সারাদেশের রেলযোগাযোগ বন্ধ হয়ে যায়। উদ্ধারকারী রিলিফ ট্রেন আসার পর ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত বগিটি মেরামত করার পর রাত পৌনে ৮টার দিকে ট্রেনটি ছেড়ে গেলে রেলযোগাযোগ স্বাভাবিক হয়।
